However, there are two precautionary features you can use to ensure you never get locked out again you can use Samsung Find My Mobile to remotely unlock your device or the Smart Lock feature to keep your device unlocked. Make sure to set up these features so you can always access your device. Note Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version. Use Samsung Find My Mobile Click to Expand Note If you have not previously enabled Find My Mobile and Remote Unlock, please skip to the last section in this article. If you have enabled the Find My Mobile and Remote Unlock features before losing your PIN, pattern, or password, you will be able to use the following steps to unlock your device. However, your device must also meet the following conditions Your device must be turned on. Your device must be connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network. Your Samsung account must be registered on your device. The Find My Mobile and Remote Unlock features must be enabled on your device. To do so, navigate to and open Settings, then tap Biometrics and security, and then tap Find My Mobile. Tap the switch at the top of the screen, and then tap the switch next to Remote Unlock to turn it on. If you have a screen lock set up, you will be prompted to back it up. Tap Agree, and then enter your credentials. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Find My Mobile guide. Please use the following steps to unlock your device Using a web browser, navigate to the Find My Mobile website, and then select Sign in. Enter your Samsung account email, and then select Next. Enter your Samsung account password, and then select Sign in. Next, select your device from the list on the left side of the screen. Your device’s location will appear on the map. Select Unlock on the right side of the screen. Enter your Samsung account password when prompted, and then select Next. Your phone will be unlocked; a green checkmark will appear on the Find My Mobile screen. Use Smart Lock Click to Expand The Smart Lock feature allows you to choose certain conditions when it’s okay to circumvent the PIN, pattern, or password you have in place to access your phone. These conditions consist of on-body detection, establishing a trusted location, or connecting with a trusted device. If you set the Smart Lock feature before forgetting your PIN, pattern, or password, you can take advantage of this feature. In other words, you can unlock your mobile device, and keep it unlocked, when one of its conditions is met. For example, if you have set your home as a trusted location, your device will detect the location and automatically unlock itself when you get home. Factory reset your device with Google Find My Device Click to Expand Important Before performing a factory reset on your device, you will need to know your Google account information and password that was used to set up your device. Additionally, the Find My Device feature must be enabled on your device. Performing a factory reset will erase all personal data and downloaded apps. You will not be able to recover your data after the factory reset. If you are still unable to unlock your phone or tablet, you can factory reset your device using the Google Find My Device website. Keep in mind that factory resetting your device will revert your device back to its original factory state. Navigate to the Find My Device website, and then enter your Google account email address. Select Next. Enter your Google account password, and then select Next. Your device will appear on the left side of the screen. Note If you have more than one device, select your desired device. Next, select ERASE DEVICE on the left side of the screen. Review the information, and then select ERASE DEVICE. You will be prompted to verify your account. Enter your account information, and then select Next. Then, you will be prompted to permanently erase your device's data. Select Erase. Your device will then begin the factory reset process. Next, select Use my Google Account instead and enter your Google account information to proceed. You will now be able to start using your device again. Visit a Samsung Service Centre Click to Expand If you have your phone but cannot remember your account details, there is still one last solution visiting a Samsung Service Centre or your phone provider. With proof of purchase, they will be able to factory reset your phone. Keep in mind you will get access to your phone but any data on it will be erased. Please note if your device needs to be unlocked from Google device protection, it will be treated as out of warranty repair and charges may apply. How can I unlock my Galaxy device if I forgot the security PIN, pattern or password?
I suddenly cannot access my phone with my normal password. it just keeps saying its incorrect. How can I unlock my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 without factory reset. Very urgent help needed please. asked Nov 27, 2015 at 906 5 Follow the below steps if you forgot lock screen password. Enter a wrong lock screen pattern five times shouldn’t be hard if you don’t remember the correct one Select Forgot Pattern’ Now you should be able to enter a backup PIN or your Google account login. Enter either your backup PIN or your Google login. Your phone should now be unlocked. You can also follow Device Manager by Android steps Ensure that you had enabled Android Device Manager as a device administrator under security settings before trying this. On a computer or other mobile phone, visit Sign in using your Google login details that you also used on your locked phone. In the ADM interface, select the device you need to unlock if it isn’t already selected. Select Lock’ In the appearing window, enter a temporary password. You don’t have to enter a recovery message. Now click Lock’ again. If it was successful, you should see a confirmation below the box with the buttons Ring, Lock and Erase. On your phone you should now see a password field in which you should enter the temporary password. This should unlock your phone. Now, before you go on with your life, go to your phone’s lock screen settings and disable the temporary password. Disable your lock screen using custom recovery and “Pattern Password Disable” Download the pattern password disable ZIP file on your computer and put it on an SD card. Insert the SD card into your phone. Reboot your phone into recovery. Flash the ZIP file on your SD card. Reboot. Your phone should boot up without a locked screen. Should there be a password or gesture lock screen, don’t panic. Just type in a random password or gesture and your phone should unlock That’s it! answered Nov 27, 2015 at 921 10 I had similar problem and to me it was weird! It happened like this My Note 3 hot spot tethering stopped working. When I switched it on it displayed a message "hot spot in use" and it did not connect to any of my devices as usual. I reinstalled my device reset to factory settings and it worked perfectly. Hot sport stared working. Then I set my common password to my Note 3, and actually I used it for a couple of times. Later, the devices rejected my password! All the time it said "wrong password"! I used several options including locking it using "Android Device Manager" exactly as the method is suggested here above. Yes, my phone was locked with a black screen but it did not REPLACE the lock screen with one I put in the website for Android device manager! I think this is not good. Android device manager should be more serious So I was stuck again! What I finally did was to go to the " and put my Samsung account information and used the "unlock" button. All passwords were wiped clean! Now I can access my devise. I hope this will help somebody Frank P. Seth answered Jul 18, 2016 at 833 The other two answers are good, this is just another system/recovery way of backing up your data in case you don't have access to a backup PIN or Google Account. But of course, you'll need to have access to fastboot and CWM recovery image of your device for this to work! Start your phone in fastboot mode by long-pressing DnVolume+Power button. Connect to a PC using USB cable ensure ADB drivers are installed and run this command replace path with your CWM image path fastboot boot /path/to/ Once inside CWM recovery you can use adb commands! Mount the /data and /system partitions if they aren't already, and pull whatever data you want. For example, to list all the files and folders in your external sdcard, run adb shell ls -al /sdcard/ To copy a file, run adb pull /sdcard/ This way, you can recover anything you want from the phone/tablet even if you forgot your PIN and don't have access to internet or google account or an OEM alternative method! answered Jul 18, 2016 at 859 1 You must log in to answer this question.
